Strawberry root aphid and offspring can be found in large numbers on leaves early in the season.

Common name:  Strawberry root aphid.

Scientific name:  Aphis forbesi (Weed)

Description:  Aphids in general are usually about 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) long and slightly less in width.  they have two pipe-like projections extending from their posterior ends.  Most are wingless, but winged forms occur.  The strawberry root aphid is bluish green.
